An IT Service Agreement is a legal guarantee for a correct management of the IT system development process. If some important questions are skipped or neglected, it may have undesirable consequences such as missing the deadlines or failure to honor the guarantee. What should such an agreement comprise so it can protect you from unwanted surprises?
- The object of the agreement alongside a detailed description of the application development process and the application functionality. It is crucial to discuss these while preparing the documentation to ensure that your project is completed within the given timescale and in accordance with what has been agreed on. Our IT advisor will send you the agreement template as soon as the first contact has been made, which will allow you to acquaint yourself with the provisions of the agreement and embark on the project sooner.
- The price of the software and the method of payment. At Kamee we request that a part of the payment be made on the day of signing the agreement. In this way, we are able to guarantee unlimited time for defining your needs and preparing the mockup. The remaining part of the payment is made once the application has been developed.
- Precise deadlines for web application development. In this respect, you should be given the number of days that each stage of the development should take. The stages are: preparing the documentation and the mockup, programming, testing, and installation of the application on the chosen server once the software has been approved and the last payment made.
- Contact persons - whom should we contact in your company and whom you should contact at Kamee with regards to your project. At Kamee, our project manager, who will be your IT advisor, handles and supervises the project from start to finish. If necessary, we can designate additional contact persons both on our and your end to facilitate a detailed discussion on particular elements of the application. It could be e.g. the manager of a given department in your company. At Kamee such contact persons could be IT experts and programmers.
- Statement regarding transferring ownership of the software to your company. Among other things, it will allow you to introduce changes in the source code with no constraints, duplicate your application, and implement it wherever you wish. In this way, you become the sole owner of the application. We will also provide you with the full documentation of the developed solution alongside the source code, which will not be encoded.
- Specification of the software guarantee. Our software goes with a 12-month guarantee. During that period we resolve any potential issues in a timely manner and free of charge. We want to give you 100% satisfaction with the application.
If your IT Service Agreement lacks any of the above elements, it may result in unsuccessful communication between you and the team of software developers. Another risk such a situation entails is potential issues after the implementation. Reading the agreement carefully is a good starting point for an effective cooperation.
